Chillicothe Considering A Strategic Planner

Discussions on hiring a Strategic Planner for the City of Chillicothe were held during Monday’s Chillicothe City Council Meeting.  The discussion was led by City Administrator Roze Frampton, who presented proposals from two firms, Shockey and Interim Solutions.

The proposals were quite different.  Shockey proposed meeting with council, staff, the public, and department heads, spending time in the community, and presenting a report.  The timeline was about three months at a cost of about $10,000.

Interim Solutions proposed meetings with staff and council, and a half-day retreat with the key people.  Their timeline is several weeks, and the cost is $3,200.

The council expressed concerns and asked questions.

The reports presented will give a broad 5-year plan.

The council felt they needed to define their goals first, and no decisions were made at the council meeting.
