Seventy-seven calls for service were handled by the Chillicothe Police Department on Wednesday.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury crash on Fair Street and conducted a well-being check on Alexander Street, where no assistance was needed.

Police are investigating a fraud scam involving callers impersonating law enforcement and targeting registered sex offenders.

Officers also responded to reports of a suspicious person, a verbal domestic disturbance involving a juvenile that will be referred to juvenile authorities, and a report of construction equipment being driven on city streets.

Late Wednesday night, officers took a report of a sexual assault involving a child in the 300 block of Third Street. A suspect has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
