Students in the Chillicothe schools will have food grown in the area as part of the school lunch program. The Chillicothe R-II School District will receive $12,000 through the USDA’s Local Food for Schools (LFS) Cooperative Agreement Program. This program helps to expand local food options in the district’s school lunch program during the 2026–2027 school year.
Superintendent Dr. Dan Wiebers says this will provide local food options.
Local produce and beef.
This funding will help connect students with nutritious foods produced in the region while strengthening partnerships with local producers.
