Chillicothe Received Demolition Grant

A $268,000 Demolition Grant was awarded to the City of Chillicothe to tear down 17 dilapidated residential structures and 1 dilapidated commercial structure within the city.  The grant is through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, creating opportunities for future community enhancement and growth.

The Chillicothe Demolition Project is a key initiative designed to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal, improve public safety, and promote economic growth by removing abandoned and unsafe structures. The project aligns with the city’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its infrastructure and improve the quality of life for its residents.

Green Hills Regional Planning Commission will administer the grant to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines throughout the project’s implementation.
