Chillicothe Sliced Bread Day Activities

Sliced Bread turns 97 this summer and will be celebrated by Chillicothe – The Home of Sliced Bread.  Sliced Bread Day will be June 7th with a variety of activities at locations around the community.

Sliced Bread Day Events:

At The Chillicothe Welcome Center – there will be live free, family-friendly entertainment, inflatables, games, caricatures, face painting and more from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Live entertainment includes Drum Safari, Rockin’ Rob and Scott the Magician of KC.

Chillicothe Trolley – will provide rides throughout town to all Sliced Bread activities from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  The cost is $1 for an all day ticket.

 Bread Contest – At the Grand River Museum.  Bread drop off from 8:00 – 10:00 am with Judging 10:00 am – Noon.  Sampling, slicing & awards are at 1:00 pm. Also enjoy museum exhibits and vendors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ready Set Bread – The YMCA presents a 5k Run/Walk. Registration is at 7:00 and the run is at 8:00 am.

Home Grown Concert – Join Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce at 7:00 pm, across from the Chillicothe Welcome Center.  An outdoor concert from a collection of Chillicothe “Home Grown” musicians to perform a “Slice of Home Concert.”

Friday June 6th Events:

Main Street Wine Walk at 4:30 p.m. and concludes with a concert in Silver Moon Plaza at 7:30.

Donut Day – by the Salvation Army at the LICOVA Building from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Other community events include:

Saturday breakfast at LICOVA,

Chillicothe Farmers Market,

North Missouri Sportsman’s Alliance Fishing Derby,

Mudcat Baseball,

Riding For Our Veterans – Battle at the Grand Bulls & Barrels event.
