Fire & Wind Hazards Continue

Fire and High Wind hazards continue today across the KCHI listening area.

The Red Flag Warning from the National Weather Service is for Mercer-Putnam-Schuyler-Grundy-Sullivan-Adair-Livingston-Linn MO-Macon-Carroll-Chariton-Randolph-Saline-Howard-Pettis-Cooper counties, including portions of the KCHI listening area, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.  Fires that catch can spread quickly.    Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Livingston County Emergency Management issued a Burn Advisory today from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm for all of Livingston County.  Burning Is Not Recommended.

A High Wind Warning from the National Weather Service is also issued for NW Missouri and North Central Missouri for today from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm as wind gusts could be as high as 60 miles per hour and could cause damage to trees and power lines.  Travel could also be a problem for high-profile vehicles.
