Guilty Pleadings Entered In Two Cases

A Braymer man has pleaded guilty in Caldwell County Court to two counts of passing bad checks.  Thirty-seven-year-old James Ryan Levi Grimes had been charged with five counts of passing bad checks.  As part of the plea deal, counts three, four, and five were dismissed.  The prosecutor is recommending a sentence of 2 years in prison – suspended, with 5 years of probation.  The sentence would run consecutively to any other sentences.

A sentencing assessment report is ordered, and sentencing has been set for January 12th before Judge Darin Adkins in Caldwell County Circuit Court.

Grimes also appeared in court on charges of alleged stealing.  He entered a guilty plea, and sentencing is on February fifth.
