A Linn County bridge replacement project scheduled to begin December 15th has been delayed. The Missouri Department of Transportation says the replacement of the Route 139 Parson Creek Bridge, north of Meadville, was scheduled to close for replacement. The new schedule is to begin replacement on or after January 6th, due to contractor schedule changes. During construction, motorists will need to find an alternate route around the closure.
The new bridge is expected to open in May 2026.
The Parson Creek Bridge was built in 1933 and has a traffic volume of approximately 140 vehicles per day.
The replacement is part of MoDOT’s Northwest Bridge Bundle, to replace or rehabilitate 31 poor-condition bridges in north central Missouri.
