The Livingston County Ambulance District’s newest ambulance was picked up this week after the remount process. Chillicothe Fire Chief Eric Reeter explains the remount allows for significant savings.
Remove the box from the old chassis and place it on the new chassis.
Reeter says this remount was considered extensive.
New paint, LED lights, wiring and more.
He says a remount saves taxpayers about $140,000.
The Ambulance District has a total of six box-style ambulances, and one is primarily used to transport to other hospitals outside the community. They schedule a remount to happen about every two to three years, based on age and miles.
