Livingston County – A Decade Of Progress

For more than a decade, Livingston County has been working on improvements that range from financial stability to road improvements and law enforcement.  Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas looked back at the past 11 years, reflecting on changes instituted by the Livingston County commission and the citizens of the county.  Douglas explained much of this is possible because of a Sales Tax passed by the voters.

Raising the tax allowed the county to now have reserves of around 25%.

One of the early projects with those funds was fixing up the courthouse.

Replacing doors, windows, electrical, and power washing the exterior.

Douglas says they were also able to increase wages in an effort to stay competitive.

Douglas will continue to discuss the county’s accomplishments as this series continues.
