Several local counties are beginning to show up on the Missouri Drought Monitor. The Drought Monitor release this (Thursday) morning shows about 15% of the state is Abnormally Dry. This is split between north-central Missouri and the Bootheel. There is also about 3% as moderate or severe drought. That is all in the Bootheel.
The local counties listed as Abnormally Dry include much of Carroll, Chariton, Linn, and Sullivan counties, and stretching to the east.
Last week, all of the reported drought conditions were in the southeast part of the state.
