Mock Accident Brings Awareness To Consequences Of Poor Decisions

The annual GRTS Mock Accident demonstrations were held today, sponsored by Skills USA.  Chillicothe Police Chief Jon Maples was one of the emcees for the programs and explained why this is done so close to prom and graduations.

To show the consequences of poor decisions.

The annual event includes representatives from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Missouri Department of Transportation, Chillicothe Police and Fire Departments, Livingston County Coroner, Hedrick Medical Center, and Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.

Students are also involved and are the staged victims of the mock accidents.

Additional demonstrations will include the seatbelt convincer, a drunk driving simulation, and opportunities to interact with the various agencies.
