Request For Camping At The Airport Denied

A request for camping at the Chillicothe Airport for the upcoming EAA Fly-in was denied by the Chillicothe City Council.  The request was made by Airport Director Toby Calivere.

The City Auditor checked with the city’s insurance carrier and determined there were several requirements that needed to be met to allow camping at the airport.

Part of the problem was there was no ordinance in place to allow camping and no formal layout and facilities for camping on sight.

The council chose to deny the request at this time, but could look into camping at the airport as an option in the future.
