A Brookfield man was sentenced in federal court to 30 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a child. Fifty-four-year-old Russell Alan Pirkey pled guilty in September and was sentenced by US District Judge Henry E. Autrey on Tuesday. The victim, who was 9 years old at the time told the court that the abuse began in August of 2022. The crime was not reported to Brookfield Police until April of 2023.
Pirkey still faces charges in Linn County that include alleged 3 counts of statutory sodomy, and one count each of alleged sexual abuse, harassment, and assault. Hearings in Linn County are scheduled for February 9th for disposition.
