A two-vehicle crash in Linn County Wednesday afternoon left one driver with serious injuries. State Troopers report 79-year-old Karen Wheatcraft of Brookfield was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment following the crash on US 36 at Grove Street near Laclede. According to the report, a dump truck driven by 61-year-old William LaPlant of Troy failed to yield and pulled into the path of the Wheatcraft vehicle, resulting in the crash. The dump truck overturned, but LaPlant was not injured in the crash.
