Storm Damage Assessments

Storm Damage Assessments for the storms that affected the area counties in April and May is being collected by the Emergency Management for the respective counties.  Green Hills Regional Planning Commission handles Emergency Management in Grundy, Harrison and Carroll Counties.

Glen Briggs with Green Hills Regional Planning Commission discussed the Carroll County Damages.

Flood Damage from the April event.

Those damages include over $1 million in damage to roads and bridges.  That is already part of a request for a federal disaster declaration that awaits approval by the President to assist with recovery efforts.

Briggs also talked about storm damage to the north.

Flood damage in Harrison County and Flooding and Hail damage in Grundy County.

Grundy County reported approximately $2 million in damage to publicly owned facilities, including roads, bridges, and public buildings.

Harrison County assessments have identified over $1.5 million in damages specifically affecting county roads and bridges.

The State of Missouri is still collecting the reports that will be supplied to the Governor to determine if a request for Federal Disaster Aid will be made.
