Substation Damage Evaluation

Chillicothe Municipal Utilities will investigate the damage caused by a squirrel last week at the Polk Street Substation, as it knocked out power for a large number of customers on the west side of town.  CMU General Manager Matt Hopper says the evaluation of the substation takes place today.

Specialty contractors to check the damage.

Hopper says if they need to replace the transformer, the work will require cranes and oversized trucks to remove, transport, and replace the unit with the spare they have on hand.
