Two Area Volunteer Fire Departments Receive Public Safety Grants

Two area volunteer Fire Departments are recipients of grants from the Missouri Department of Public Safety.  The state of Missouri awarded over $1.4 million in state equipment grants to bolster firefighting capabilities in their communities.  Of the 108 grants awarded, local recipients include:

  • Galt Fire Protection District
  • Meadville Community Fire Protection District

The most requested items in the grant include Turn-out Gear and SCBA or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus.

The grant recipients are required to pay a 5% match to cover their portion of the expense.
