State Troopers investigated two serious injury crashes in the area counties on Tuesday.
In Livingston County at about 4:50 pm, Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash involving a semi and two other vehicles. The crash occurred at US 65 and LIV 224, about 4 miles north of Chillicothe. Vehicles driven by a 28-year-old woman from Chillicothe and a 77-year-old man from Chillicothe were northbound, and the semi driven by a 52-year-old Wellington, MO man was southbound. The report states the 28-year-old woman attempted to make a left turn onto LIV 224 and was struck on the passenger side by the semi. The collision caused her vehicle to strike the one driven by the 77-year-old man. The woman had serious injuries, and her five-year-old passenger had minor injuries. They were both taken to Hedrick Medical Center. She was later flown to Truman Medical Center. The 77-year-old man was also taken to Hedrick Medical Center with Serious Injuries.
In Daviess County at about 3:10 pm, a two-vehicle crash on Route J at Titan Avenue near Altamont left two with serious injuries. Troopers report the crash occurred when a pick-up driven by a 66-year-old Altamont woman was northbound and attempted to make a left turn when a southbound vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Cameron woman crested a hill and struck the northbound vehicle. The Cameron woman and her passenger, a 20-year-old man, were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with serious injuries. The other driver was not injured.
