Several cases will be going to court in the area counties.
A Braymer man’s case on charges in Caldwell County for five counts of allaged passing bad checks has been bound over to Circuit Court. Thirty-seven-year-old James Ryan Levi Grimes of Braymer allegedly passed checks totalling $898.00.
Arraignment is scheduled for November 12th before Judge Darin Adkins in Caldwell County Circuit Court.
A woman at the Chillicothe Women’s Prison, facing a charge of alleged conspiracy to commit a felony, has had their case assigned to Judge Ryan Horsman. Kayla A. Britt is an inmate at the prison. She is alleged to have worked with others to bring controlled substances into the prison while on a work release in Chillicothe city parks. Her arraignment is set for December 2nd.
A Gladstone man charged with alleged Statutory Rape, Anthony Joel Carter, has his trial set for April 2nd, with the Pre-Trial conference set for March 5th in Livingston County.
Carter was originally charged in October of 2024.
The trial for a woman charged in the death of another person involved in a crash on May 26th of 2023, will be in Caldwell County Court in January of 2026. Eighty-one-year-old Juanita S. Pryor of Hunnewell is charged with alleged involuntary manslaughter. The pre-trial conference will be December 10th.
The case was moved to Caldwell County in September of 2024 on a change of venue.
The crash occurred on Business 36 at Mitchell Road in Chillicothe, when Pryor allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the other vehicle at a high rate of speed.
