Hornets Soccer Starts Season By Caging Cameron

Lady Hornets Soccer Falls in District Semi-Finals to Maryville

The Hornets boys soccer team opened the season with a game against MEC opponent Cameron on Tuesday night. Isaac Bailey put the team on board early but the Dragons equalized late in the first half. Chillicothe took control in the 2nd half with three goals by Magnus Maier to ensure victory in the season opener by a score of 4-2.

Coach Tim Cunningham had this to say following the contest, “This was a great first match!  I am so proud of how hard our guys played and how well we played together.  Our defense, led by Seniors Bradley Ferguson and Charlie Reeter was strong all match and our Freshmen keeper Jesse Hughes made great strides throughout the match, including one remarkable save in the second half!  Our attack was very opportunistic tonight, sharing the ball and playing to our strengths.”
