The Chillicothe Lady Hornets picked up a dominant 9-0 victory over Cameron Tuesday, improving to 2-0 in MEC Conference play.
Chillicothe’s offense collected 13 hits and scored nine runs, while Landry Marsh led the way with a home run and double, finishing with seven total bases. The Lady Hornets also took advantage of five Cameron errors.
The 6th inning is where Chillicothe separated from Cameron, the Lady Hornets went from leading 1-0, to ahead 7-0 by the end of the frame. Along with Marsh connecting on three hits, Chillicothe also got multiple hits from Kylee Link, Quin Marsh and Macie Rodenberg.
Marsh was equally impressive in the circle, throwing a complete-game shutout while allowing just two hits and striking out 16 batters. She faced 24 batters and threw 71 of 87 pitches for strikes.
The Lady Hornets now 13-1, travel to Savannah Thursday for another important MEC Conference matchup.
