Lady Hornets Soccer Comes Up Short

The Lady Hornets soccer team hosted St Paul Lutheran on Thursday night. St Paul came out firing and Chillicothe answered with shots of its own. St Paul would get on board first to make it 1-0. Another first half goal by Lutheran made it 2-0 at half time.

The second half would see a back and forth game with the Lady Hornets having plenty of chances but nothing going in. After Lutheran made it 3-0, a late goal by Sophie Hurtgen solidified the final score 3-1 for St Paul. Layla McKinnis was the Lady Hornets goalkeeper for the match.

On Friday the Lady Hornets traveled to Savannah to take on the Lady Savages. While the game itself would be up and down the field all night, the Lady Savages prevailed 6-2. Chillicothe’s goals were by Sophie Hurtgen and Ashlynn Daugherty with an assist from Hayden Hansen. Layla McKinnis was in goal and played an outstanding match, even blocking a penalty kick

The pair of losses puts Chillicothe at 5-9 on the season with its next match on Tuesday vs Cameron in the teams Senior Night.
