The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Tennis Team brought home a wealth of hardware from the Excelsior Springs Tournament. The Lady Hornets won the team title, had three individual first place finishes and two second place individual finishes from Wednesday’s Tournament.
In pool play Chillicothe had 5-0 team wins over Excelsior Springs, Cameron and Carrollton.
In individual play for Chillicothe: #1 Doubles team of Hunter Keithley and Hannah Cypert beat a Winnetonka duo 6-1 to win First.
#2 Chillicothe Doubles team of Gracy and Lucy Reeter beat a Winnetonka duo 6-3 for the championship.
#2 Hornets Singles player Hannah Zimmerman beat a Kearney player 6-4 for the championship.
#1 Hornets Singles player Macy Cavanah lost to a Winnetonka player 2-6 for second place
#3 Chillicothe Doubles team of Allison Ischmael and Delaney May lost to a Kearney duo 2-6 for second place.
In the tournament format, each school fielded two singles players and three doubles teams, with players competing in either singles or doubles only.
