Several area cross country runners will advance after strong performances in district competition.
In Class 1, the Meadville boys won District 7, led by Dillon Seckington’s second place finish. Individuals moving on include boys champion Gavin Fitzwater of Polo. Jackson Umbaugh of Polo will also advance, as will Calvin Basham and Dustin Davies, both of Braymer. For the District 7 girls, Krysta Meyers of Meadville will advance to the next round, as will Emma Howard, Kendall McCracken, and Elisabeth Davis, all of Polo. Katie Basham of Braymer will also advance.
In Class 2 District 8, Penney of Hamilton girls finished in 2nd as a team and also advances, led by Nora Ford, who finished in 2nd place. On the Boys side, Jackson Thomas of Hamilton finished in 11th place and will advance to the next round.
