Hornet Wrestlers Sweep Moberly Duals

The Chillicothe Hornets Wrestling Team swept the 2-day Moberly Duals tournament, winning all eight dual meets Friday and Saturday.
Chillicothe beat St James 66-18, Southern Boone 66-18, Priory 70-12, Bonneville 56-23, Affton 65-6. Fulton 52-24, Eldon 48-19 and beat Moberly 38-34.
Chillicothe had three wrestlers go 8-0 in the meet. Conner Keithley had 7 pins in his 8 wins, Colton Sewell had five pins, two wins by points and a bye and Lavery Jones had five pins, one win on points and two wins via byes.
Keegan Valdez won all seven of his patches including six by pins and a bye.
Other Chillicothe wrestlers competing on varsity included Dawson Wheeler going 7-1 with three pins, Matt Callen 7-1 with a pin, Isaac Washburn 7-1 with 1 a pin.
Sheldon Rader went 6-1 with two pins, Kaleb Mullikin went 6-2 with two pins and Evan Loucks went 4-1 with two pins.
Aidan Zimmerman went 4-3, Gage Leamer 4-3 with a pin, Jacob Chapman 3-4, Spencer Cairns 2-1, and Wade Horton 1-1.
Cesar Mares had a varsity bye and won an exhibition match. Christian Peniston lost a varsity match and lost an exhibition match. Nickolas Heldenbrant went 1-1 in exhibition matches and Alexander Webb lost an exhibition match.
