The Penney:Hamilton Lady Hornets Softball team scored five runs off ten hits to beat Chillicothe on Senior Night 5-2 at Danner Park. Penney scored three runs in the third. Chillicothe answered with one in the fourth but Hamilton scored twice in the sixth. Chillicothe tried a seventh inning rally but scored only one more run.
Chillicothe Coach Mike Jones used 16 players on Senior Night and stated The Senior girls played a great game against a very good Penney softball team.
Halle Rucker pitched for Chillicothe, allowing five earned runs off ten hits with five strike outs and no walks.
For Chillicothe at the plate Lexie Walker had a double, Libby Adkins and Abby Jones had two singles each, Mika Hibner, Kiley Kirkpatrick and Bailey Pithan each had one single in the game. Walker and Jordan Hibner each had an RBI in the game. Adkins and Jones scored the two runs.
