St. Pius X needed overtime to beat the Chillicothe Hornets in a Junior Varsity Football Game at Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium Monday night.
Chillicothe’s Deon Reynolds scored on a 98-yard run late in the first half. Pius countered with a 55-yard pass in the third and kicked the extra point.
A Chillicothe fumble gave Pius good field position and one play later a 30-yard pass made it 13-6 Pius.
The Hornets Donald McCracken had a 54 yard run in the fourth and Reynolds scored the two point conversion for the 14-14 tie.
In overtime, Pius scored first on a three yard run but Chillicothe blocked the extra point. However the Hornets were unable to score in overtime.
Coach Roman Cranmer pointed out several great plays by his team, including sacks by Zion Bowe and Julius Humphrey, Brock Ward with a fumble recovery and Anderson Dejesus with two sacks.
