The Chillicothe running game outlasted the Bishop LeBlond passing game in a 40-33 Hornets football win on Senior Night.
The Hornets scored on a Kam Ward 10 yard run in the first and led 7-6 at the end of the quarter.
LeBlond scored on a 64 yard quarterback run and a 3 yard run in the 2nd quarter. Chillicothe responded with a 38 yard pass to Brad Hayen and Jaden Winder nailed a 34 yard field goal.
LeBlond responded with a 23 yard touchdown pass for a 19-18 halftime lead.
In the Third, Jaden Winder ran it in from four yards out. However the Chillicothe defense gave another big play, a 78 yard pass play for a tied game at 26-all after three quarters.
In the four quarter, Winder ran it in from 11 and later Cade Koehly ran it in from 4 yards for a 40-26 lead with 4:42 left.
LeBlond scored on a 5 yard pass with 2:21 left but failed to recover the on-sides kick. Chillicothe ran out the clock for their second win on the season
Unofficially, Chillicothe rushed 66 time for 388 yards led by Koehly’s 20 carries for 121 yards. Winder was 5 of 9 for 77 yards passing and two interceptions.
LeBlond went 9 of 18 for 145 yards through the air, but rushed for just 87 yards on 12 carries.
