Hornets Battle Hard, Football Season Ends.

The Maryville Spoofhounds used a potent offense and a swarming defense to beat Chillicothe 38-7 in the football district semi-final game.
Despite being with out several starters due to a variety of reasons, Maryville won the battle of field position to help pick up the win. In the first half Maryville had five out of six drives start past the 40 yard line, while Chillicothe had four out of five drives start behind the 20 yard line.
Maryville scored on their first drive of the night on a 42 yard run. They scored again midway through the first quarter on a Tyler Houchin 53 yard run. In the second quarter Tate Oglesby caught a 25 yard touchdown pass. Houchin ran it in from one yard and Oglesby had a 9 yard run for a 31-0 lead at intermission.
Houchin had his third rushing touchdown on the night with a 31 yard run in the middle of the third quarter.
Chillicothe scored with just over 30 seconds in the game on a Jaden Winder 4 yard run. The Hornets recovered an on-sides kick but ran out of time before they could score again.
