The Chillicothe 8th grade Girls Basketball team took first in their own CMS tournament while the Hornets finished 2nd. The tournaments marked the end of the middle school basketball season.
On Saturday the 8th Grade Lady Hornets beat Marshall for the championship 37-19, led by Cali Burkhardt and Bre Pithan with 8 points each, Kinlei Boley 6, Aliyah Briner 5, Hope Helton 4, Kirsten Dunn 3, Lilly Basinger 2, Kaitlyn Fleener 1 and playing time for Lainie Epperson. The 8th Grade Girls finish the season with a 12-1 record.
The Chillicothe 8th grade Boys basketball team won two games on Saturday to finish in second place in the two-day tournament. They beat Cameron 57-28, led by Wyatt Brandsgaard with 15, Griff Bonderer 12 and Cayden Potter with 11. They then beat Bueker Middle School of Marshall 43-14, led by Cayden Potter with 19. For the season the 8th Grade boys finished with a 12-2 season record.
