The Chillicothe Lady Hornets had few problems beating Raytown South 52-21 in the opening game of the Kearney Tournament.
Chillicothe opened with a 10-0 run in the first four and a half minutes and never trailed in the game.
Coach Darren Smith thought his team showed patience against the Raytown South 2-3 Zone Defense.
The Lady Hornets were led by Hunter Keithley with 20 points and a double-double for Kennedie Kieffer with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Jordan Hibner had six points and Freshman Essie Hicks with four points. Laney Gaston and Magy Thomas each had three points, Haley Kidd and Maggie Pfaff each had two points.
Receiving playing time were Catey Trout, Lucy Reeter and Kiley Kirkpatrick.
Chillicothe will play Park Hill in the semi-finals on Wednesday at 8:00pm. Park Hill beat St Joseph Lafayette 50-12 in their first round game.
