Tournament Updates – Scores – Postponements – Cancellations

Basketball in the frozen tundra of North Missouri is becoming difficult to find on what would normally be a very busy tournament week.
The Meadville Tournament played some first round games Thursday night.
Meadville girls beat Hale 51-48.
Meadville boys beat Bucklin/Macon County 73-27.
Mercer boys beat Hale 68-38.
Mercer Girls beat Bucklin/Macon County 56-26.
Grundy County girls and boys teams were to play games hosted by Northwestern of Mendon cancelled out of the tournament due to weather and road conditions.
Friday’s games have been called off. Games will be played Saturday with 1st and 3rd place games to be played Wednesday, January 30th

The Cameron Invitational had games cancelled for the third straight day. The boys first round games where cancelled due to weather and road conditions. The higher seeded teams in the boys first round moved to the winners bracket and the lower boys seed moved to the consolation side of the bracket.
Chillicothe has a double header scheduled tonight in Cameron, weather permitting. At 5:15pm the Chillicothe girls take on Maryville in the Cameron high school gym, followed by the Chillicothe boys against Lawson at 6:30pm in the Cameron high school gym. Both games are winners bracket semi-final games. The other six semifinal games are also scheduled for tonight with two gyms being used for the games.

The Penney High of Hamilton tournament organizers threw up the white flag Thursday. The rest of the games and the rest of the tournament have been cancelled.

Scores received in the Keytesville tournament had Southwest girls beating Keytesville 51-27 to advance to the consolation game. The Madison Boys beat Norborne 50-24 to advance to the boys consolation game.
