The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Softball team went 2 and 2 in Saturday’s Putnam County Tournament.
Chillicothe lost to Marceline 14-5. Marceline scored 5 in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd and 7 in the 4th. Chillicothe tried a come back in the 5th with 5 runs scored. Chillicothe had six hits in the game, led by Kirsten Dunn with a double. Marceline had two home runs in the game and benefited by 9 walks.
In game two Chillicothe scored three times in the 7th inning for a 4-2 come back win over Schuyler County. Sophia Luetticke had three hits and Jordan Hibner had a triple.
In game three, Clark County scored seven in the second inning and went on to an 11-7 win in a slug fest. Clark County had 13 hits and Chillicothe with 14 hits in the game.
In game four the Lady Hornets beat North Callaway 10-6. Chillicothe had 14 hits in the game led by Mika Hibner with a home run, single and three RBI. Sophie Luetticke had a triple and single with two RBI.
Kiley Kirkpatrick had three singles, Brooke Horton and Abby Jones had two singles each.
