The Chillicothe Lady Hornets begins play tonight in the 45th annual Kearney Classic Girls Tournament.
Chillicothe with a 6-4 record is coming off of wins over Lawson and Bishop LeBlond.
Their first round opponent will be Platte County. The Lady Pirates are 3-6 on the season with wins over St Joseph Lafayette, Park Hills South and Raytown South.
The only common opponent is Smithville. Chillicothe beat Smithville in the Savannah tournament and lost to them at the NCMC Holiday Shoot Out. Platte County lost to them on the road by 32 points on December 10th.
The first round tournament game today is at 5:00pm with the pre-game show at 4:45. The 5:00pm news block will air in the 4:00pm hour.
Wednesday the Lady Hornets will play either Park Hill or KC Southeast. The Winners play at 8:00pm Wed and losers at 3:30pm. The upper half the bracket is Kearney and Lafayette girls and Notre Dame de Sion and Raytown South.
