1 MEC Basketball Team Still Competing

The Semi-Finals are set for the MSHSAA Basketball Championships for Boys and Girls Classes 1, 2 and 3.
Class 1 Girls
South Iron at 25-4 takes on South Nodaway/Jefferson, which beat Norborne in the quarterfinals. Walnut Grove girls at 26-5 takes on Community at 28-1 which beat Green City in the quarterfinals
Class 1 Boys
Dora at 30-2 plays Jefferson/South Nodaway at 28-2. Golden City at 27-2 takes on St Elizabeth at 24-5 which ended Meadville’s season
Class 2 Girls
Oran at 25-5 takes on East Buchanan at 27-3. Tipton girls at 25-5 takes on Blue Eye at 27-4
Class 2 Boys
Oran at 26-5 takes on Skyline at 29-2. Milan at 25-3 takes on Hartville at 29-2
Class 3 Girls
Licking at 24-6 takes on Macon at 24-4, which beat Chillicothe in sectionals by 10 points. Whitfield at 26-5 takes on Strafford at 28-3.
Class 3 Boys
Charleston at 27-4 takes on Monroe City at 28-2. Cardinal Ritter at 23-6 takes on Blair Oaks at 28-2.
The Midland Empire Conference has just one basketball team still playing in the post season.
The St Joseph Lafayette Boys beat Kearney for the Class 4 District 16 championship 57-38. Lafayette is 18-9 and faces Kansas City Lincoln College Prep at 16-10.
A team that Chillicothe boys defeated in the regular season is also in the Class 4 tournament. Kirksville, which lost to Chillicothe on February 20th, is 21-5 will face St Dominic which is 17-10.
The Midland Empire Girls teams are all done with basketball. St Joseph Benton lost to Kearney in the district championship 48-30. Kearney at 25-1 will face KC Lincoln College Prep which is 16-9.
