The Chillicothe 8th Grade girls basketball team edged past Maryville 22-20 to win 3rd place in the Savannah Middle School Tournament.
Liz Oliver scored four of her six points at the free throw line including three late in the game. Aubrie Burton had six, Presley Rardon had five, Kaelee French with three and Allie West with two. Also seeing playing time was Emerson Stafancik, Alyssa Munrow, Lucie Cosgrove, Hannah Pfeiffer and Tori Stoner.
On the 8th grade Boys side, Savannah beat Chillicothe 34-29. Brayden Shoop had 14 points for Chillicothe 8th grade team, Ashton Baker, Fisk Miller and Silas Midgyett each had four points, Kenyen Gannan had two and Jonny Bowlin had one point.
Coach Roman Cranmer said his team struggled with turnovers and shot 5 of 17 from the free throw line.
