“It Was A War” -Lady Hornets Beat Benton

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets won a defensive battle to advance to the Savannah Tournament championship game with a 34-28 win over St Joseph Benton.
The game was a back and forth run on points between the two teams. Chillicothe led 20 to 15 at halftime and held Benton scoreless in the third quarter, while only scoring two points themselves.
The fourth quarter was a story of free throws with Benton hitting 9 of 10 and Chillicothe going 8 of 16.

Chillicothe was led by Jolie Bonderer with 11, Essie Hicks with 8, Jessica Reeter with 5, Lucy Reeter and Bre Pithan with three each and two for Izzy Montgomery. Ellie Barnett also saw playing time.
Chillicothe plays for the tournament championship on Saturday with the pregame show at 12:40 and tip off at 1:00 pm against the winner of tonight’s Smithville vs William Chrisman game.
