CHS Girls Tennis Brings Home Four Medals From Cameron Tourney

On Wednesday, the Lady Hornets varsity tennis team spent the entire day on the Cameron High School courts battling in individual or double matches for tournament medals in all ranked positions: No. 1 Singles, No. 2 Singles, No. 1 Doubles, No. 2 Doubles, and No. 3 Doubles.

For the Hornets, Cami Carpenter played No. 1 Singles, Madison Kieffer No. 2 Singles, Rylee Washburn and Izzy Garr No. 1 Doubles, Bryton BeVelle and Anna Pfaff No. 2 Doubles, and Micah Crowe and Keonnia Morgan No. 3 Doubles.

Chillicothe’s No. 2 Doubles of BeVelle and Pfaff and the No. 3 Doubles of Crowe and Morgan captured third place medals for their respective brackets. No. 1 Doubles Washburn and Garr ended up fourth in their bracket while both Singles players, Carpenter and Kieffer, ended seventh in their brackets.

Final scores were as follows:

Crowe and Morgan lost to Higginsville, beat Savannah, beat Cameron, and beat Warrensburg.
BeVelle and Pfaff lost to Higginsville, beat Savannah, beat Cameron, and beat Warrensburg.
Washburn and Garr beat Higginsville, lost to Savannah, beat Cameron, and lost to Lafayette.
Kieffer lost to Higginsville, lost to Savannah, lost to Cameron, and beat Lafayette.
Carpenter lost to Higginsville, lost to Savannah, lost to Cameron, and beat Lafayette.
