CMU Requests Permission To Burn

A request to burn trees removed from the path of a wastewater project in the industrial park was approved by the Chillicothe City Council.  CMU General Manager Matt Hopper noted the tree removal and disposal needs to be completed before April to avoid delays.

Trees must be removed prior to April 1st due to Indiana Bat habitat.

The council approved the burning of the trees at two locations in the industrial park.  The ability to burn on site saves CMU about $40,000 in transporting the trees to the city’s “Burn Site.”
