Woman Charged For Handgun Found at Second Grade Program

A rural Chillicothe woman who left her purse at the Chillicothe High School following a second-grade spring program has been charged with alleged unlawful use of a weapon – by carrying a loaded weapon onto school grounds.  Twenty-five-year-old Erin Grace Sackery was charged in Livingston County Court for the incident that occurred on April 7th.

The Probable Cause Statement states that the custodial staff located the purse inside the Performing Arts Center of the High School.  A handgun was found in the purse, and the gun was loaded with four rounds of ammunition.  They also located the information identifying the owner of the purse.

When Sackery met with the Sheriff’s Deputies, she confirmed the purse and weapon were hers.

Sackery is scheduled for her initial appearance in Livingston County Associate Court on July 8th.
