Chillicothe Girls Compete at Throwdown in Joe Town

The Chillicothe girls wrestling team competed at the Throwdown in Joe Town, on Friday in St. Joseph, facing a deep and competitive field.

At 110 pounds, Hadley Ramsey (14–9) earned two wins in consolation action. After opening the tournament with a loss to Izabella Schierholz of Warsaw, Ramsey rebounded with a fall over Mia Bosch of Adrian and an 11–6 decision over Emmilynn Loubey of Central (St. Joseph). Her run ended in the third consolation round with a decision loss to Brooklee Thomas of Mid-Buchanan. Ramsey finished the event with 4.0 team points.

Competing at 115 pounds, Sophie Hurtgen (12–12) recorded two quick falls in the consolation bracket. Following a first-round loss to Jade Hadley of Lathrop, Hurtgen pinned Mia Lantz of Smithville and Dillan Piersel of Park Hill South before being eliminated by Molly Meehan of Mid-Buchanan. Hurtgen scored 6.0 team points for the Hornets.

At 145 pounds, Kamri Pearson (6–14) dropped her opening match to Maranda Myers of Warsaw and was eliminated in consolation action by Halle Reed of Plattsburg.

At 155 pounds, Daivy Creason (5–14) fell to Liv Schubert of Oak Grove in the opening round. After receiving a bye in the consolation bracket, Creason was defeated by Aurora Gray of Wathena-Riverside.
