Chillicothe Wrestling Strong Effort at Throwdown in Joe Town

The Chillicothe Hornets competed in the Throwdown in Joe Town Tournament, facing a deep 20-team field on Saturday in St. Joseph. Chillicothe finished 11th overall with 76 team points, Savannah captured the team championship with 200 points.

Leading the Hornets was Marshall Boon (106), who advanced to the finals and earned a 2nd-place finish, scoring 21 team points. Boon opened the tournament with a quick fall and added a major decision and a tight semifinal win before falling to an undefeated opponent in the championship match.

Riggin Isaacs (113) followed with a strong performance, placing 4th and contributing 16 points. Isaacs recorded multiple bonus-point victories, including a fall and a sudden-victory win, before finishing just outside the podium’s top spot.

At 144 pounds, Case Stretch placed 4th, adding 15 points to the team total. Stretch opened with two dominant wins, including a fall and a major decision, and rebounded through the consolation bracket to secure his placement.

Paxton Keith (132) contributed 7 team points, earning multiple falls in the consolation rounds after an early setback. Lukas Young (150), Ethan Mercer (190), Cason Roney (215), and Brendan Gardner (285) each added valuable points, with Gardner recording two falls during his run.

Several Hornets battled tough draws and gained experience against high-level opponents, including Karsin Lent (126), Oak Hayes (138), Lee Nickell (157), Talon Lake (165), and Sam Wiebers (175).
