A “Joyful Celebration” of the rescue and move of the Bethel AME Church is this Sunday, at United Methodist Church in Chillicothe. The event begins at 3:00 pm and Grand River Historical Society Museum curator, Pam Clingerman says it is time to celebrate the work done to this point.
Clingerman says the event is free of charge.
The restoration process for the AME Church will take about a year and she says that will be followed by a re-dedication of the space for the community.
