Improvements to the driving surface for Washington Street in Chillicothe are planned for this year. The Missouri Department of Transportation had requested bids for the project once, but those bids were rejected. They plan to go out for bids again in April and if they accept a bid, the work could start this summer. MoDOT Area Engineer Austin Hibler says they will be accepting bids for three options.
Hibler says the bid process begins in April and they expect to award the bid in May.
The project would need to be completed by November.
