Driver In Shooting With Troopers Died In Rollover Accident on I35 @ Highway 6

The suspect of a shooting on Interstate 35 near Cameron died when the vehicle he was driving rolled and the driver, a Hispanic male, became pinned underneath the vehicle.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported they received a call of shots fired from a red passenger car, northbound on Interstate 35 at the 48-mile marker, south of Cameron.  The troopers saw the car near the US 36 exit and the car was traveling at a high rate of speed.  The chase continued north at a high rate of speed and the suspect fired a gun at the trooper near mile marker 62.  The trooper returned fire and a couple of miles later, near the exit for Highway 6, the suspect vehicle was involved in a rollover accident, where the driver became pinned under the vehicle.

The highway patrol reports the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  The troopers involved in the incident were not injured.
