Chillicothe Police Report Busy Friday

Chillicothe Police handled 128 calls for service Friday.

00:25 AM, Officers received a call of a barking dog in the 1100 block of Polk Street.  Officer was unable to make contact with the owner and the dog was taken to the animal shelter.

06:04 AM, Officers responded to a possible domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of Borden.  No domestic disturbance occurred.  Officer and EMS assisted an elderly person with medical needs.

Officers monitored traffic on Washington Street, north of the viaduct.  Several warnings were issued.

10:17 AM, Officer called to a parking complaint in the 1400 block of Walnut Street.  Officer determined a funeral was taking place and provided the funeral an escort at 10:50 AM.

12:00 PM, Officer spoke with someone about a letter that was received in the mail.  The letter was determined to be legitimate.

12:24 PM, Officers responded to a business in the 2600 block of Washington Street for a report of theft and to recover narcotics.  Officers identified the theft suspects and the owner of the narcotics.  Charges are pending.

2:22 PM, Officer called to the 1100 block of Hillside for a missing child.  Officer discovered the missing child asleep under a bed in the residence.

3:53 PM, Officer called to a business in the 400 block of Park Lane.  A person was located in the business, escorted outside, and advised to not enter the business in the future or charges would be sought.

4:09 PM, Officer assisted a subject with a car seat installation at the police department.

6:58 PM, Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of South Washington Street.  The driver was issued a warning for excessive acceleration.

7:37 PM, Officer called to the 1500 block of Burnam Road for a parking complaint.  A warning ticket was placed on the vehicle for removal.

9:16 PM, Officer received a parking complaint in the 400 block of Calhoun Street.  The vehicle was tagged for removal.

10:12 PM, Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Bryan Street.  The driver was issued a warning for defective equipment.
