Auto Theft Solved In Three Minutes

The Chillicothe Police made quick work of a vehicle theft investigation Tuesday evening.  At about 9:25 pm, they received a report of an SUV stolen from a convenience store in the 200 block of North Washington.  The SUV was seen headed north and officers saw a vehicle matching the description in the 2600 block of North Washington at a convenience store, fueling the vehicle.

A 39-year-old Chillicothe resident was arrested for alleged vehicle theft, unlawful possession of “Brass Knuckles”, Possession of Methamphetamine.  The suspect was also allegedly fraudulently using a credit device of the vehicle owner to attempt to obtain fuel for the vehicle.  The suspect was also taken into custody on a Missouri Probation/Parole violation warrant.

From the report of theft to finding the vehicle and the suspect took three minutes.  Further Investigation led to three recent cases of reported vehicle thefts within Chillicothe.
