Law Enforcement Raids Daviess County Drug Operation

State and local agencies raided a suspected marijuana growing operation in the rural Daviess County Monday.  Officers from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, Highway Patrol, ATF, NITRO Task Force and the Buchanan County Drug Task Force raided the proper at 285th Street and Unity Ave, about 5 miles west of Lock Springs.  The tactical team made entry onto the property, with a search warrant, and three people on the property fled.

The Daviess County Sheriff Ben Becerra says the officers had the perimeter secure and had air support, but the three suspects could not be located.  If you have any information on the three individuals that fled from the property, you are asked to call 911 or your local law enforcement office.

Prior to the raid on the property, officers took another person of interest in the operation into custody in Independence.  No names were released
