Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Sumner will host a Sparrow Identification Workshop, October 19th & 20th. The event is sponsored by the Audubon Society of Missouri, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Friends of Swan Lake NWR, and the Missouri Department of Conservation with assistance from the Missouri Bird Records Committee. The workshop begins at noon on October 19th and continues until noon on the 20th.
This workshop is free and open to the public and includes sparrow identification in both classroom on the 19th and ID practice in the field on the Refuge until dark. A light dinner is included at no cost to participants. The 20th will be a day of ID practice in the field beginning at sunrise.
